About

Slay the Spire 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the genre-defining roguelike deckbuilder, set to enter Steam Early Access in March 2026. Developed on the Godot engine, the game takes place 1,000 years after the original, featuring a more dangerous, "living" version of the tower with entirely new systems and characters.

Key Gameplay Features:

  • New Playable Classes: * The Necrobinder: A wandering lich with a very low HP pool (35) who commands a skeletal hand named Osty. Osty acts as a separate entity with its own health, fighting alongside the player.

    • Returning Heroes: The Ironclad and The Silent return with overhauled card pools and updated mechanics, such as the Exhaust keyword being added to staple cards like Blade Dance.

  • Alternate Acts: For the first time, players choose between two distinct branches for each Act. For example, Act 1 offers the lush, sentient flora of the Overgrowth or the mutated sewer-dwellers of the Underdocks, doubling the game's variety.

  • Enchantments: A "risk-reward" card modification system. You can apply powerful buffs to your cards, such as Corrupted (+50% damage), in exchange for negative side effects like losing HP on every play.

  • Dynamic Events: The event system (question marks) has been overhauled to remove "safe" exits, forcing players to make more consequential choices in over 50 new scenarios.

  • Visual Evolution: The shift to Godot allows for more fluid animations, sharper VFX, and integrated quality-of-life features that were previously only available through community mods.
