About
PEAK is a high-stakes, cooperative climbing simulation that turns a simple mountain ascent into a frantic test of physics and teamwork. Developed by a collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall Games (the "Landcrab" team), it strips away complex combat in favor of a singular, punishing focus: reaching the summit. You play as a stranded nature scout on a mysterious island where the mountain layout resets every 24 hours, meaning every day brings a completely new set of vertical puzzles and procedural hazards.
The gameplay is defined by a brutal stamina management system that acts as your primary lifeblood. Every action—from gripping a sheer cliff face to lunging for a distant ledge—depletes your energy. As you climb higher, the environment fights back through five distinct biomes, starting from the calm Shore and moving into the poisonous Tropics, frozen Alpine peaks, and the volcanic Kiln. Injuries and hunger permanently reduce your maximum stamina capacity, forcing you to scavenge for "questionable food" and manage your health carefully or risk blacking out and sliding into the abyss.
Teamwork is the literal tether that keeps you alive. PEAK features a proximity voice chat system that heightens the tension as you coordinate rope placements, deploy pitons for rest stops, or physically pull teammates up ledges. The game encourages a "leave no scout behind" mentality, where you can revive fallen friends at altars or carry them across dangerous terrain. Whether you're dealing with shifting winds, lava tides, or the occasional giant beetle trying to knock you off the rocks, the experience is a blend of slapstick physics comedy and genuine survival dread.
