Mewgenics is one of the strangest and most unique indie games you’ll come across. Developed by Team Meat, the creators of The Binding of Isaac, this game mixes turn-based strategy, roguelike mechanics, and life simulation in a way that feels completely fresh.
At its core, Mewgenics is about breeding and raising cats… but not in a cute, simple way. Each cat has its own stats, traits, mutations, and even genetic defects. You can create powerful or bizarre combinations over generations, leading to some really unexpected outcomes.
Combat is tactical and turn-based, similar to games like XCOM. You take your cats into battles where positioning, abilities, and team composition matter a lot. Permadeath is part of the experience, so every decision can have long-term consequences.
