About
CatLands is a cozy landscape puzzle and village-building game developed and published by April Overload, currently featuring a public demo as part of the Steam Next Fest in February 2026. The full game is scheduled for a broad 2026 release on PC. In this title, players restore floating cat villages by solving procedural puzzles that involve matching and arranging 3D landscape elements like forests, rivers, and mills.
The gameplay experience is split between a meditative puzzle mode and a creative sandbox mode. Completing puzzles rewards players with specific tiles and decorations used to build a personalized settlement from the ground up. As the village grows, it attracts a variety of "fluffy residents"—vibrant feline characters with unique personalities and hobbies. Players can interact with these cats, participate in their stories, and uncover a collection of heartwarming comics that detail their lives within the village.
Designed for relaxation, CatLands features adjustable difficulty modifiers and a lack of timers or pressure, allowing players to build at their own pace.
